Saturday was one wet day .... but after last weekends rain we didn't feel like an inside day so armed with umbrellas we braved the wet .......
The car above is not mine it was parked near Bourke St Bakery and I just had to photograph it !!!
First stop was "Fouratefive".... my favorite cafe as mentioned before in this post. Best food, coffee and staff in Sydney. We order the same thing every time " French Toast stuffed with banana" ... the girls don't even ask us what we are having anymore they just know .... now that's service !!!!
Then we strolled to buy bread at "Bourke St Bakery" even in the rain there is still a line up for their bread . Don't you love the girls drinking coffee and eating pastries under their umbrellas .... we have been known to do the same thing, but today it was just a big bread purchase.
We had a look at this exhibition at the "Ray Hughes Gallery" .... it's such a great gallery space.
Then we strolled along Crown St and looked in a few vintage stores ...... "Cream" is my favorite, and the guys are great ( and have smiles to match!!!) .....
they have the best selection of mens check shirts and some great shoes , without the greedy price tags of some vintage stores .....
.... my daughter bought these boots ..... great leather and nicely worn in, Perfect !!!!
We nearly walked past this store .... it's new on the block, Flight 001 has opened it's first store outside of the US (lucky Surry Hills) and like the name implies it is a store dedicated to all things travel .... I bought some little "Wallpaper" travel books and a great alarm clock, but unfortunately I left them in this store so I can not show you until the the lovely owner sends them to me in the post.
We strolled over to Paddington to the above mentioned store.... where I always get so inspired and a little excited (hence leaving my travel goodies there) .... I'm going to tell you more about this in my next post because "The Society Inc" deserves it's own post .....
Then on to this movie ..... It was great but not near as good as the first one "Paris Je T'aime", but still a lovely way to spend a rainy afternoon.
We walked out into a rainy dark evening .... (which I kind of like) ....
..... my favorite bookstore is straight across the road so we ventured over there for a nice browse (I love bookstores in the evening for some reason) .....
.... I finally bought this book, which I am looking very forward to reading after watching this film.
more about it in last Sundays post
more about it in last Sundays post
Then a walk back to Surry Hills for a nice early dinner of margherita pizza at ''Pizza e Birra''.... Think I could happily live on "Fouratefive" and "Pizza e Birra" food every weekend (When you're on a good thing ....)
So a great day was had ..... and much walking and eating was done ..... very satisfied !!!!
Sunday ..... the sun is shining so we had a big walk with the doggies and a bit of a lazy day. I did have a visitor pop up at the window though .... this peacock has been hanging out around our house for quite a while now, she walks around with all the bush turkeys and doesn't seem fazed if you go near her .... she kind of has a bit of attitude actually, I like her!!!
Hope you had a lovely weekend.

what a weekend, I'm jealous!!! although we have had great weather.
What a great day. Your special breadfast place looks just up our street! Love the boots, the shops, bookstore...everything. Perfect!!
Sounds like you made the most of a dreary weekend. Good for you. That line up for bread. Arghhh. How do you stand it. Thank goodness for our gorgeous little lesser-known bakery.
We've been meaning to go to fouratefive for aaaaages. We went to Single Origin for coffee last week, and were meant to go after but got so frustrated with parking that gave up.
Right – this week it's on! We're definitely going!
what an amazing sounding weekend...who cares about the rain when you fill it with such delicious things!
I can't believe there was a peacock wandering around your house. And turkeys? Looks like a great weekend.
Perfect is seriously an understatement. I wish I could click
my heels three times and follow right along in your footsteps!
