Photobooths, what's not to love, lately they have been popping up at some very cool parties and even the odd wedding and I love how The Ace Hotel has one in it's lobby. I think the one golden rule with photobooth photos is they must be black and white, colour just doesn't make the cut.
I came across these old shots and thought they were so great I just had to share .....

Andy Warhols photobooth self portraits really did epitomize so many of his works .... here's a bit of trivia, the second strip was later owned by Robert Mapplethorpe ....
Edie Sedgwick hamming it up for Warhol and the photobooth, I love these shots.
I think this exhibition would have been amazing .....
.... and how great is this photo of Jack and Jackie Kennedy !!!
This is the famous photo booth in the lobby of The Ace Hotel NY .... no visit is complete without some photobooth pics.
Those were the days !!!
The two shots above are my own "vintage"shots (wow the first time I've used myself and vintage in the same sentence !!! ). The first one is me sporting freckles and a very crooked fringe ( I do love that floral dress, very retro) .... the second is of me and my friend Vanessa, we are still friends now, we just have much better hairdressers now that we are grownups ( I'm the one with the bowl cut).
This is a great photobooth we found on a recent trip to Melbourne , it was outside Flinders Street Station, needless to say we had to stop and do a few poses !!!
Finally, I think this book would be such a great read ... the photo of the old lady and her dog features in it.

i especially love the very first photo and the photo of you as a little one...you're adorable.
i've been thinking about anonymous vintage/antique photos/snapshots lately...and am still smarting from losing out on the dog photograph i posted...fell asleep at the switch during the bidding...

Why is it that photobooths bring out our silly side?
These were such a huge part of my early teenage years. There aren't enough of them any more, are there? Thanks for this post, it really made me smile. xx
PS. I LOVE your freckles and crooked fringe. Two things I shared in common with you in my childhood years!
I have that book. It's great. There are some really amazing shots in it. I love the shots of you - so cute! We have some photobooth family portraits from when my daughter was a baby. It's been a few years and we were just saying how we need take more. :)
These are wonderful shots. Thanks so much. There is something really classic and simple about all of these isn't there. Thanks for sharing. Pruxxx

These are all so great! I love the expressions!
Does the NY Ace have a photo booth?
I think this was taken in the lobby of
the Portland (Oregon) Ace. ;)

I'm so glad I stumbled on this post! Who doesn't love a photo booth - these pictures are fantastic:)
