I first saw this photograph on this lovely blog and was instantly intrigued .....
It is part of a series by Photographer John Pfahl entitled "Picture Windows" .... I think they are just beautiful.

WEEKEND

Walked past an "old school" carnival on the weekend .... I just love the colours and the nostalgia of these places especially the clowns .....

 ....... and the kewpi dolls, I used to love these as a kid (so kitsch !!!)

and of course the carousel ....

a photographic feast indeed !!!

 Writer, actor, Brendan Cowell has just released his first novel .... I love this guys work and I have him to thank for my daughters love of Shakespeare and the theatre, he was the first actor she saw play Hamlet and one of our all time favorite plays Ruben Guthrie was written by him, luckily for her she got to tell him so after a play we attended a while back .... he was so humble and lovely, a real gentleman.

 I really have a thing for painted brick walls at the moment so this space, a converted 1930's cabinet workers studio really hit the spot, plus the art and furniture are pretty great too !!!

BROOKLYN DIARY

 You may remember me posting about my infatuation with Brooklyn here, here and here ....
Well this morning my copy of "Brooklyn Diary" from "Lines and Shapes" arrived and it's all I expected and more .... the most beautiful photographs of food, homes, people, shops and some wonderful studio spaces .....

  so now my infatuation has increased tenfold .....

I really cannot recommend this book enough ....
I know this girl is going to adore it !!!

Not quite Brooklyn ... but my sunny front porch was a nice spot for devouring this book and a big cup of tea this morning.
