Fresh basil in my washable paper bags ....
I love these so much, I bought them before Christmas from
Small Spaces .....
(a very cute shop, if you happen to be in the neighborhood)
.... so many uses, and they come in black and white as well !!!
A new stool for the kitchen .....
a new book, a very good read so far ....
.... a freshly painted front door .....
(only the outside)
.... and some lovely blue skies outside our door, finally !!!

SUBMARINE
Watched Submarine last night on DVD (we missed it when it was on at the movies a while back) ....
what a totally adorable film, darkly funny, very English, great actors (especially Craig Roberts and Noah Taylor) ....
.... and a great soundtrack by Alex Turner
.... loved every minute of it !!!

A BIT OF A FRESHEN UP
Some photos I took around Christmas time (hence the garlands) of a few new touches around our home .....
the mantle is now fixed to the wall ......
we installed some picture rails throughout the house ....

these two rooms got a fresh coat of paint
they hadn't been painted for 12 years ... (since we first moved into our home) and were in much need of a freshen up .....
and it looks a lot better than it did in this post .....
.... amazing what a coat of paint, doors and a few little touches
can do !!!
