HELLO

Hello .....

we are in the middle of a long weekend here in our part of the world .....

 

 

..... we have no big plans

just relaxing and enjoying the spring sunshine .....

FINALLY

I finally got this painting framed the other day .....

   I have had it for years but just never got around to it .....

It's called "Elephants on Parade"

I bought it from an art fair in Sydney about eight years ago .....

  the texture and colours are so beautiful ......

  it's dwelling on the mantel at the moment until we find a nice wall space for it  ......

unfortunately I didn't write down the artists name .....

.... and I can't make out the signature,

all I know is she was a Melbourne based artist .....

so if anyone recognises the name or the painting I'd love to know.

OFF TO SCHOOL

 Our little Eadie is all grown up now .... 

yesterday she left my mums paddock for "finishing school" for about five weeks where she will be broken in and return a rideable horse .....

 I was a little worried when my husband first told me this was going to happen ....

(I actually know zero about horses, Mark on the other hand grew up in the country surrounded by them) 

but he assures me "her school" will be very kind and loving and she will return an even better horse .....

 Eadie is the first horse I have ever really had much to do with, she is so beautiful and funny .....

she gives kisses, loves people, takes off your hat if you are wearing one, is best friends with my mums dog (they run around and play together all the time) and adores kids  ......

 as soon as she sees you she will canter up (so fast) for a pat and a cuddle .....

she follows the postman all the way up the lane when he delivers the mail (he now brings her a daily carrot)  

and all the neighbors love her .... 

 ..... oh and she smells so good !!!

 She had a lovely wash before she left .....

 all fresh and clean for her first big day of school .....

 ...... we will miss our beautiful girl !!!

SOME NEW CHAIRS

As soon as I saw these chairs in the window of this shop I knew they

 were the ones ...

we have been looking for a long time for some "just right" chairs ....

our chunky mismatched ones had kind of had there day, I was always on the lookout for cafe style Bentwood chairs, but once I saw these babies I changed my mind .....

 

 

 vintage danish design, super sturdy and very comfortable .....

 

 

 and great looking backs .....

 

 

 there were only four available so our old school chairs are staying on the ends for the time being .... 

 .... down the track we hope to find two more, still danish (and vintage) but not too "matchy"

I'm so glad we didn't rush in and waited for these

.... we love them !!!
